Dr. Valerie

Gin

          EXECUTIVE BOARD       

Dr. Valerie Gin is currently a professor of kinesiology at a private liberal arts college in New England.  She is a two-time recipient of the Distinguished Faculty Award, winner of multiple Coach of the Year honors, an international consultant, speaker and author. After coaching collegiate volleyball and softball for 13 years, Val continues her love of and interest in sport through teaching, researching and writing about sport.

Val has travelled the globe partnering with people of sport in South Africa, Egypt, England, Singapore, Kenya, Zambia, Argentina, Costa Rica, Honduras, China, Korea, Qatar and India. She has published numerous articles and book chapters, and has co-authored two books: Focus on Sport in Ministry (2004) and When Girls Became Lions (2015).


Gin is the founding co-chair of the Sports and Christianity Group, which wrote the "Declaration on Sport and Christian Life."

Val is a graduate of Greenville University where she played volleyball, basketball and softball.  She went on to earn a master's degree in Social Psychology from Eastern Illinois University and a doctorate in Human Movement from Boston University. 

Val enjoys mentoring, working with non-profit partners and is currently on the Board of Trustees at Greenville University and 7th Seed.  She currently resides in Magnolia, MA.
